Welcome to Hector’s Restaurant & Bar, a laid-back beachfront restaurant in Koh Samui located on the quieter side of Bang Por Beach, where the sunsets are dramatic, the drinks are cold, and the seafood is worth staying for.
Named after Hector, a rather distinguished beach dog who grew up right here on this stretch of sand, the restaurant carries a bit of his personality — confident, calm, and slightly unimpressed by nonsense.
Long before travelers discovered this part of Koh Samui for ocean view dining and relaxed beachfront evenings, Hector was already wandering these shores, watching fishing boats drift by and sunsets settle over Bang Por Beach. That slower island rhythm still shapes the atmosphere of Hector’s Restaurant & Bar today.
Guests often arrive for sunset cocktails, fresh seafood by the beach, and quiet dinners beside the ocean, but many end up staying longer than expected. Between the sea breeze, the sound of the water, and the easygoing atmosphere, the place naturally becomes part of the memory people take home from Koh Samui.
Hector doesn’t technically work here anymore… but he does still drop by from time to time to inspect the place.
